Cook will move southwest, later southeast. The storm is intensifying rapidly, and could peak at 95 knots. This will coincide with its passage across New Caledonia. After this, Cook will become extra-tropical.

Meteo France (New Caledonia) (in French) advises that Cyclonic Alert n° 1 is now in force for the islands' province, the Nord province and the communities of Thio and Bourail. The Pre-Alert remains in force for the rest of New Caledonia. Please note that at midday local time (Monday 10th April), these alerts will be extended and, in places augmented to Alert 2.
