Maximum sustained winds 40 knots gusting to 50 knots
Winds of 34 knots or higher occur within 10 to 60 miles of the centre
Threatened landmasses Vanuatu

18P has formed northeast of Vanuatu, and will veer round to the west, later south. The system will strengthen rapidly, peaking at 110 knots after 4 days.
