Location 25 miles SW of Puerto Angel, Mexico
Movement 025° (NNE) at 4 knots
Maximum sustained winds 40 knots gusting to 50 knots
Winds of 34 knots or higher occur within 35 miles of the centre
Minimum central pressure 1004 mbar
Threatened landmasses Mexico
Next warning from NHC at 0000 GMT

Beatriz will move slowly northnortheast and will make landfall within the next 12 hours or so. After that, the storm will dissipate inland.

A tropical storm WARNING is in force from Puerto Escondido to Salina Cruz
Rainfall totals of 8 to 12, locally up to 20, inches can be expected over the state of Oaxaca
The southern part of the state of Vera Cruz could see 1 to 3 inches. These rains are likely to cause life-threatening flash floods and mudslides.
