Merbok is moving northnorthwest towards mainland China. The storm will make landfall over Hong Kong within about 12 hours and dissipate.

03E will move northwest towards the coast of Mexico. The system will not intensify much further before landfall.

Mexican warnings
A tropical storm WARNING is in force from Boca de Pijijiacan to Punta Maldonado.
Rainfall totals of 5 to 10 inches, locally up to 20 inches, are possible over southern Guatemala and the Mexican states of Chiapas, Oaxaca and Guerrero. Life-threaening flash floods and mudslides are possible.
