Merbok is moving north and will shortly make landfall just east of Hong Kong. The storm will theen dissipate inland.

03E will move northwest towards the coast of Mexico. The system will not intensify much further before landfall.

Mexican warnings
A tropical storm WARNING is in force from Boca de Pijijiacan to Punta Maldonado.
Rainfall totals of 5 to 10 inches, locally up to 20 inches, are possible over southern Guatemala and the Mexican states of Chiapas, Oaxaca and Guerrero. Guatemala as well as the Mexican states of Tabasco and Veracruz could see 3 to 5 inches. Life-threatening flash floods and mudslides are possible.
