Movement 290° (WNW) at 10 knots
Maximum sustained winds 35 knots gusting to 45 knots
Winds of 34 knots or higher occur within 140 miles of the centre
Threatened landmasses Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico

Franklin is nearing the west coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. The cyclone will reemerge over the Gulf of Campeche, where it will reintensify, before making landfall on the Mexican Gulf coast.

Rainfall totals of  4 to 8, locally up to 12 inches, can be expected over the Yucatan Peninsula.
Totals of 2 to 4, locally up to  8 inches, can be expected over Belize and northern Guatemala
Totals of 4 to 8, locally up to 15, inches are expected over the Mexican states of northern Veracruz, Puebla, Tlaxcala, Hidalgo and eastern San Louis Potosi. These rains could give rise to potentially life-threatening flash floods and mudslides
A storm surge will elevate water levels 2 to 4 feet above normal tide levels on the Gulf coast of Mexico.
