Maximum sustained winds 40 knots gusting to 50 knots
Winds of 34 knots or higher occur within 60 to 120 miles of the centre
Threatened landmasses Mauritius, La Reunion
Maximum significant wave height 14 feet

06S has strengthened and will move west, later southwest. The system will strengthen to 95 knots. By that time, the cyclone will approach the Mascaregne islands from the northeast. There is still considerable uncertainty in the track forecast.
